Job Summary

The Senior IT Engineer Application resource will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of the Cornerstone/Saba Learning Management System (LMS) within the organization. Responsibilities include system administration, user support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the LMS fulfills the organization’s learning and development needs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Leverage DevOps practices, as well as Waterfall and Agile methodologies, to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, high-transaction, on/off-premise, cloud-based solutions.
• Complete work assignments and support business-specific projects by applying expertise, developing work plans, meeting priorities and deadlines, and collaborating cross-functionally to make effective decisions.
• Provide insights and recommendations for technical solutions that meet design and functional needs.
• Translate business requirements and functional specifications into program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions by partnering with Business Analysts and other teams.
• Lead system incident support and troubleshooting for complex and non-complex issues.
• Develop and execute unit testing to identify application errors and ensure software solutions meet functional specifications.
• Support component integration testing (CIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) by providing triage, attending test team meetings, and performing fixes.
• Identify specific interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures, and functions to support technical solutions while incorporating architectural designs.
• Collaborate with architects and software consultants to ensure functional specifications are translated into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs.
• Provide implementation and post-implementation triage and support of software solutions by programming and configuring enhancements to new or packaged systems.
• Review and update technical specifications and documentation.
• Write technical specifications and documentation.
• Ensure new and existing software solutions adhere to industry best practices, strategies, and architectures.
• Assist with project estimation throughout the PLC.
• Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of application designs, integrations, and customizations to ensure scalability and sustainability.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in technology development or engineering.
• 3 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization.
• 2 years of experience with LMS (Learning Management Systems).
• 3 years of IT experience developing and administering reporting platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
• 3 years of advanced customer-facing troubleshooting experience.
• Strong communication skills and a results-driven approach.
• 3 years of IT experience developing SQL code and administering SQL databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
• 3 years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of IT experience developing and administering SharePoint.
• 2 years of experience in test-driven application development.
• Certifications in Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone or equivalent) – preferred.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis.
