Description:

Coordinate the end-to-end implementation of regulatory reporting mandates and lead the transition into sustainable post-production support. This role will manage country rollout planning, stakeholder alignment, readiness governance, issue intake, triage, escalation, and root-cause resolution to ensure compliant, timely implementations and stable production operations across AMEX, vendor, product, technology, tax, compliance, legal, and country teams.

 

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate implementation planning for new mandates, including scope, milestones, dependencies, readiness gates, and required stakeholder engagement
• Facilitate discovery workshops and regulatory applicability assessments with country teams, tax, compliance, legal, vendor partners, and AMEX product and technology teams
• Manage assigned workstreams through intake, discovery, requirements, design, build coordination, testing support, go-live readiness, hyper care, and transition to run
• Drive cross-functional decision-making on compliance needs, process impacts, operational changes, data requirements, technology dependencies, and vendor or platform implications
• Maintain project-level RAID logs, open-item trackers, decision logs, dependency trackers, action registers, and auditable implementation documentation
• Establish and run the post-production support process, including issue intake, severity classification, ownership routing, escalation paths, and response expectations
• Assess reported production issues, determine business and regulatory impact, identify accountable owners, and coordinate timely resolution across AMEX, vendors, product, and technology partners
• Capture lessons learned, recurring issues, root causes, control gaps, and documentation updates to improve future rollouts, production stability, and support readiness

 

Required qualifications 

• 5+ years in program/project management delivering complex, multi-workstream regulatory, tax or enterprise technology change programs. 
• Demonstrated experience managing fixed date international regulatory reporting or compliance implementations (e.g., transaction level reporting, statutory/cross border reporting, VAT/GST digital compliance, SOX/financial controls programs) across multiple countries or business units simultaneously. 
• Hands on experience with formal program governance tooling: RAID/decision logs, readiness/entry exit criteria, Gantt/critical path tracking (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira/Confluence) and executive status reporting. 
• Experience managing delivery through third-party advisory/systems integration partners (e.g., Deloitte, other Big 4 or SI firms) and software vendors. 
• Working knowledge of finance/tax systems landscapes to test whether reported technical or business status is credible. 
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 
• PMP, PgMP or equivalent formal program management certification. 

 

Preferred qualifications 

• Experience standing up controls/compliance operating models from an early or immature state. 
• Agile/Scrum delivery certification in addition to traditional program management credentials. 
• Experience presenting and managing escalations with senior stakeholders
