Job Title: Data Center Technician Location: Canton, MS Duration: 6 Months
Note: Yes, they are expected to work on weekend and holiday based on business need.
As an client Data Center Technician, the primary resolver for the support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues.
Create and maintain documentation on technologies supported and able to effectively passdown knowledge of these technologies to junior staff.
Basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team.
Ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary.
Work autonomously to resolve most support issues.
Able to execute small projects independently, and work with the manager in planning and executing larger local projects.
Act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians.
Understand all aspects of the equipment supported.
Know how to innovate and make decisions independently, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
Required Skills
Lifting: Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs/18 kg independently. Objects exceeding that weight require a team lift (two or more people) or a mechanical aid such as a forklift, dolly, or crash cart.
Standing/Working Duration: Ability to perform sustained physical work, including manual material handling tasks such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, and restraining loads for extended periods.
Working at Height (Ladders): Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders while maintaining three points of contact at all times, facing the ladder, and carrying no objects that could cause imbalance. Only non-conductive ladders are permitted in data centers.
