Responsibilities
Analyze complex business processes and data flows to define detailed requirements for scalable data solutions.
Translate business requirements into logical and physical data models that optimize performance, maintainability, and consistency.
Coordinate end-to-end database installation activities with infrastructure and application teams.
Design and refine relational and non-relational database schemas for reporting, analytics, and integration.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored logic for dashboards, operational reports, and ad hoc analysis.
Apply NoSQL data modeling practices for large-scale semi-structured and unstructured data workloads.
Define and validate ETL workflows to ensure robust, reusable, and accurate data pipelines.
Use Spark-based data processing techniques for batch and near-real-time data pipelines.
Document functional specifications, data dictionaries, and source-to-target mappings.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize analytics features, enhancements, and defect resolutions.
Conduct data validation and reconciliation to identify defects, anomalies, and root causes.
Provide ongoing support to business users by clarifying data definitions and troubleshooting data pipeline issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving database design practices, ETL patterns, and metric definitions.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
Experience with database installation, configuration, and environment validation across development, testing, and production environments.
Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, and aggregation logic.
Practical experience with NoSQL databases, including document, key-value, or column-oriented data stores.
Hands-on ETL experience across design, testing, and deployment.
Experience with error handling and data validation within ETL workflows.
Experience using Spark for data transformation and aggregation across large datasets.
Knowledge of Spark performance tuning and resource optimization.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
6–10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in data-driven or technology-focused organizations.
Preferred Certifications
CBAP
Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent data-focused certification
