The Role
Bridgera is hiring a Data Architect to own the technical design and delivery of a modern data platform for a US-based customer. The platform runs on Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, with a medallion architecture, Databricks transformations, and Power BI reporting on a DirectLake semantic model. Data comes from an ERP system and several operational platforms through a mix of direct database connections and API-based ETL, and is modelled through bronze, silver and gold layers for production reporting. This is a hands-on role. You will own the architecture, make the design calls, lead a small team of data engineers and a BI engineer, and work directly with the client's architects in the US.
Required
8+ years in data engineering, data warehousing or BI, including 5+ years on production platforms (not pilots or proofs of concept)
Hands-on production experience with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake. This will be assessed in detail
Strong dimensional modelling (star schemas, conformed dimensions, SCDs) with real production experience behind it
Ingestion from multiple source types: direct databases and APIs via ETL jobs
Power BI: semantic models, DAX, row-level security
Strong SQL, plus Spark or Databricks (PySpark)
Experience leading a small technical team
Excellent spoken and written English: this role is client-facing, with daily sessions with a US team
Availability overlapping the US Eastern morning (to approximately 12 PM EST)
Preferred
Medallion architecture in production
Consulting or professional services background
Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Purview
ERP data integration; telemetry or IoT data reconciled against transactional records
Data quality frameworks; CI/CD for data platforms
