We are seeking a Facilities / Building Maintenance Technician to support general building and facility maintenance within an operational manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be comfortable performing hands-on maintenance tasks, working independently, and interacting with local contractors and employees on site.
French fluency is required, as the resource will regularly interact with local contractors and employees. Strong conversational French is sufficient for this role.
Responsibilities:
Perform general handyman and building maintenance activities across the facility.
Complete basic carpentry, painting, and minor building repairs.
Perform flooring repairs and assist with flooring-related maintenance.
Install, repair, and adjust cabinets and related fixtures.
Replace lighting tubes and perform basic lighting maintenance.
Assemble and disassemble office furniture as required.
Support general facility upkeep and respond to maintenance requests.
Coordinate and interact with contractors and site employees as needed.
Follow established health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
Work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and timely completion of tasks.
Support maintenance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing/operational environment.
Skills:
General handyman or building maintenance experience.
Basic carpentry and painting skills.
Experience with flooring repairs.
Experience with cabinet installation and/or repair.
Ability to replace lighting tubes.
Experience assembling and disassembling office furniture.
Strong safety mindset and ability to work independently.
Comfortable working in an operational manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Strong conversational French; able to communicate effectively with local contractors and employees.
Certifications:
Forklift License
Lift Platform / Scissor Lift Certification
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training
SIMDUT Training
Working at Heights Training
