Technical Skills Must Have
Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field, with at least 10 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory instrumentation used in scientific research and testing programs
Experience in the characterization of inorganic metal oxide particles, e.g. light scattering, Zeta Potential, BET surface area, SEM/TEM
Nice To Have
Experience in Quality (e.g. QA/QC laboratory, production quality support, understanding of control charts), experience with quality systems (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, GMP, GLP).
Experience in working with metal oxide materials for semiconductor applications
Experience working with ultra-pure materials (handling, processing)
Job Summary Laboratory Technologist
Job Description Job duties include:
Conducting routine and specialized laboratory experiments in accordance with research plans and protocols established by supervising scientists.
Preparing samples, reagents, standards, and testing materials.
Sending samples for external analysis including coordinating sample preparation, packaging, shipping paperwork, documenting experimental requests with the external vendors, and collecting and summarizing results for the scientists.
Collecting, compiling, graphing, and performing routine statistical analysis of experimental data to support scientists in evaluating and interpreting experimental results.
Assembling, operating and maintaining testing equipment including use of calibration standards and records.
Conduct routine quality-control checks including calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment and verification testing using established laboratory procedures, identifying and reporting anomalies to supervising scientists.
Maintaining clean, safe and organized laboratory facilities.
Following all safety procedures; participating in safety reviews for new equipment, procedures and materials.
Maintain detailed laboratory records, sample tracking documentation, calibration records, and testing logs in accordance with laboratory quality and research requirements including use of electronic lab notebooks.
Assisting scientists in the development, validation, documentation, and implementation of standardized testing procedures (SOPs) and/or Formal Operating Procedures (FOPs).
Manage laboratory inventories, consumables, and chemical supplies, including placing orders, updating chemical inventories and tracking invoices.
Requirements:
Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field, with at least 10 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the safe handling of hazardous materials including use of appropriate PPE, environmental controls, storage compatibility and waste disposal.
Hands-on experience in trace metals analysis, e.g. ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, etc.
Experience in the characterization of inorganic metal oxide particles, e.g. light scattering, Zeta Potential, BET surface area, SEM/TEM.
Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory instrumentation used in scientific research and testing programs.
