Job Title: Data Center Technician Location: Canton, MS Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension) Daily Schedule: Front Half (Sun-Wed) Back Half (Wed-Sat) 7am-5:30pm
Job Description: As a Data Center Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively pass down knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You are able to work with your POC in planning and executing larger local projects. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.”
Physical Requirements Lifting: Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs/18 kg independently. Objects exceeding that weight require a team lift (two or more people) or a mechanical aid such as a forklift, dolly, or crash cart. Standing/Working Duration: Ability to perform sustained physical work, including manual material handling tasks such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, and restraining loads for extended periods. Working at Height (Ladders): Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders while maintaining three points of contact at all times, facing the ladder, and carrying no objects that could cause imbalance. Only non-conductive ladders are permitted in data centers.
Prep Team Specific: Attention to detail and ability to follow clear procedures effectively. (These builders will be expected to specifically label cables, assist with unloading and loading materials, understanding cable types, and connector types)

Day To Day My team will be primarily handling cabling shipments (unloading/loading) and labeling cables. However, they may also be expected throughout their contract to conduct work on-site (Receiving server racks, running cabling, and patching)
Years of Experience: 6+ months of Industry experience
Degree or Certification: CompTIA certifications
