Job Title: Technical Program Manager V Location: Remote - Open to all locations/time zones Duration: 3+ Months - possibility for extension based on performance & business needs
Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Key Project: The Technical Program Manager will focus on driving launch readiness for client's future wearable devices, specifically regarding their integration into the client AI mobile application.
Must-Have Skills:
Program management with cross-functional coordination, particularly with Quality Assurance
Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive updates and release management
General software release management experience - knowledge of software testing, how quality software is upheld
Nice-to-have Skills:
Ability to automate workflows using artificial intelligence tools
Technical depth & fluency - understanding how a software works, how systems connect. Software eng background or technical depth of role
Stem or computer science background or analytical experience would be a plus
Experience with mobile application development and hardware-software integration is a significant advantage
Candidates with experience at large technology companies, especially former Meta employees, are preferred because they understand the organization's culture and the scale of cross-functional coordination required
Years of Experience: 10+
Degrees/Certifications Required: Not specifically - just need relevant industry experience
Responsibilities:
Acts as the connective layer between Device Programs and MetaAI Mobile App engineering teams
New device launch execution
Track execution of deliverables against upcoming milestones with Engineering and QA teams.
Work with Wearables pods through the Engineering STL to ensure milestone delivery.
Communicate consolidated status to Device Programs and C50 leads.
Seek opportunities to automate workflows:
Automation upside: ~50% reduction. Milestone/deliverable rollups and status packet generation are structured and automatable; the residual need is exception handling and judgment.
Mobile App weekly release management — feature readiness
Not in scope: driving the shiproom (remains with TPM/Release Eng).
In scope: ensuring feature readiness for an upcoming release by driving deliverable milestones and readiness criteria to completion.
Drive down launch blockers, VIP bugs and SEVs via direct reachouts to task/feature owners and engineers.
Orchestrator hygiene & change enablement
Follow up with deliverable owners to keep Orchestrator data accurate and current.
Answer owner/XFN questions on why, how, and where to record their work.
Validate submitted actions for correctness before they propagate into leadership reporting.
Purpose/Size of this team & where does this position fit within the team?
The individual will support three senior engineering managers and a core team of approximately 55 engineers, acting as a bridge between the device programs team and the mobile application team
How will performance be measured?
Performance for the contractor will be evaluated based on the existing internal standards for Technical Program Managers, which focus on three axes: technical depth, program management, and leadership.
