Job Description
Title: Scrum Master/Project Manager
Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid: onsite 3 days per week - Anchor days: Mondays + 2 flex
Duration: 11 months
Project Overview:
This is a highly visible project focused on building the strategic digital asset platform for clients. In addition to scrum master skills, this needs at least a basic understanding of technology and technical architecture.
Contractor’s Role:
The Scrum Master and Project Manager facilitates the planning, tracking, communication and coordination of activities for an Agile project delivery team. This role requires solid practical experience and techniques in both Agile and project management. As a Scrum Master, the role includes collaborating intensively with their team members across both Business and Technology disciplines providing mentoring and coaching around Agile principles and practices. He/she aids with the resolution of blocking challenges and provides outward communication for the team to external stakeholders.
Experience Level: 3 - Senior Level
Qualifications (must haves):
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required. Greater than 6 years’ experience required
Qualifications:
Intermediate to advanced understanding of basic software development methodologies and fundamentals (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, Waterfall, etc.).
Experience with developing, testing and deploying software utilizing a rapid, iterative delivery method.
Understanding of all facets of the software development life cycle including: planning, requirements management, development, quality assurance, change management and release management.
Exposure or awareness of continuous integration and test-driven development practices, test automation and tools.
Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (ADO)
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Able to organize, moderate and demonstrate value-add principles and practices to the teams, with an emphasis on leveraging the benefits of Agile, facilitating continuous improvement and enabling teams to be self-empowered
2. Experience with developing and executing plans and roadmaps, developing and delivering status reports, meeting deadlines, coordinating timelines and efforts and operating under tight time constraints.
3. Advanced interpersonal skills – able to establish strong working relationships and promote bi-directional communication within and across multiple business and technology teams.
4. Strong leadership and organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, project management, and individual and team building skills.
5. Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
6. Able to effectively facilitate discussions and suggest alternative approaches.
7. Be transparent and provide visibility to Business and Technology.
8. Develop and grow trust across the project team(s), Business and Technology.
9. Collaborate closely with PMO team to facilitate change
10. Strong formal meeting facilitation skills including meetings that support the Agile meeting cadence
11. Ability to balance workload between scrum master and project management responsibilities
