Title: CAD Technician
Location: North Reading, MA
Duration: 6 Months
 
Roles & Responsibilities

• Created and maintained detailed floor layouts in AutoCAD during the Concept, Firm, and Deployment design phases.
• Ensured floor layouts were accurate by maintaining proper cell grid alignment and component spacing.
• Resolved physical interferences, including columns, HVAC systems, expansion joints, and fire shutters.
• Followed design checklists and naming conventions while preparing layout drawings.
• Interpreted building shell composites and external references to complete floor layouts.
• Generated deployment deliverables as part of the design process.
• Worked independently with minimal direction to complete assigned design tasks. 

Top 3 Must Have Hard Skills

• 2 years of AutoCAD
• MS Excel (Must have Pivots, VLOOKUPs, Calculations cell by cell type of work

 
Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years operating experience in CAD with ability to work and manage layers
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design
• Minimum of 1 year experience drawing in a warehouse, fulfillment center or manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems 

Top 3 Must Have Hard Skills

• 2 years of AutoCAD

Nice to haves

• Program experience C++
• Good communication
• BS engineering Ideal (Industrial and Mechanical) 

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree OR Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design (CAD)
• Ability to communicate to various audiences
• Ability to lead small groups
