Job Description

Job Title: CGL Sr. Technical Consultant – Casualty Claims
Location: Hybrid(Worcester MA) or Fully Remote In US
Duration: Full Time

This position requires daily telephone contact with commercial line policyholders, risk managers, and agents.

The role is fully responsible for the analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex commercial claims requiring thorough investigations, technical expertise, and complex analysis.

Claim assignments are multi-state and involve commercial customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Must have or secure and maintain appropriate state adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits.
  • Responsible for the settlement of CGL litigated cases involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues.
  • Gather facts and analyze statements, testimony, and declarations of damages to develop claims resolution strategies.
  • Work in partnership with defense counsel and all other parties/vendors to achieve timely and cost-effective conclusions.
  • Identify potentially suspicious claims.
  • Handle transferred existing losses or first notice lawsuits involving disputed issues of significant complexity where policyholder coverage is in question.
  • Perform high-level investigation, analysis, evaluation, and negotiation activities.
  • Manage all aspects of each claim, including:
    • Informal hearings
    • Arbitrations
    • Claims litigation
    • Maintaining high productivity, confidentiality, and customer service standards
  • Serve as a technical resource for adjusters.
  • Represent the company at:
    • Mediations
    • Arbitrations
    • Trials
  • Review and analyze contracts and leases and identify risk transfer opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to write positional coverage letters.
  • Manage litigation expenses.
  • Report directly to the Unit Manager.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Must have 5+ years of Commercial General Liability (CGL) Litigation experience with an insurance carrier.
  • TPA-only experience will not be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Industry designation preferred.
