As a major contractor engaged in design and construction of large-scale projects globally, client has delivered projects in some of the most challenging ground conditions; thus, we are looking for geotechnical engineers seeking challenging projects requiring geotechnical investigation program development and execution, design of complex ground improvement systems, deep foundation design and installation, earthworks construction, advanced finite element modelling for geotechnical analysis, and other geotechnical-related project activities.

Position Overview:
This position is for a Senior Geotechnical Field Engineer to provide full-time field support during earthworks operations at the Kilby Project site near Pecos, TX. The successful candidate will report functionally to the Geotechnical & Hydraulic Engineering Services (G&HES) Group Supervisor or their designee and will report to the project field engineering team for day-to-day direction and coordination. This individual is expected to be able to work independently but will receive technical supervision and functional oversight as needed. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate work tasks with other engineering disciplines, particularly CSA, Construction and ES&H functions and the project management team. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the Kilby Project. The selected candidate will be based at the project site for an anticipated period of 6 months. The selected candidate may be required to travel to client and client offices as needed.
Responsibilities:
This role will support the earthworks operations at the project site. Other responsibilities may include development and implementation of geotechnical investigations, origination and review of geotechnical engineering designs and specifications, engineering calculations and preparation and review of geotechnical studies in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The work will require tracking scope of work, schedule, and budgets and coordinating with other technical disciplines in a team environment. Specific tasks will include (but not limited to):
On-site technical supervision of earthworks activities

The work will require tracking scope of work, schedule, and budgets and coordinating with other technical disciplines in a team environment. Specific tasks will include (but not limited to):
On-site technical supervision of earthworks activities
- Soil and/or rock excavations support
- Implementation of engineering specification and drawing requirements for earthworks, soil excavation support, etc.
- Preparing or checking technical memos, reports, etc.
- Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
- An M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with 11 years of progressive related experience in the field
Minimum Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of earthworks with an emphasis in cold weather earth work best practices.
- Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Advanced knowledge of site and subsurface investigation, foundation design and analysis, earthwork designs, soil and/or rock slope stability analysis.
- Knowledge of industry guides, codes, and standards.
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Experience with geotechnical software such as Slope/W, Plaxis, etc., Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs.
- Demonstrable previous experience working on earthworks for a large-scale project
- Registered Geotechnical Professional Engineer (P.E.) or equivalent.
- Related experience in geotechnics applied to earthworks design and construction.
- Knowledge of relevant geotechnical software and computational tools
