Job Title: Product Manager – Workforce Management (WFM)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Work Arrangement: Candidates may be remote but must be available to work onsite in New York City approximately one week per month (25% onsite presence).
Duration: 12+ Months
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with deep expertise in Workforce Management (WFM) and retail operations to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of workforce scheduling solutions. The ideal candidate combines hands-on retail store experience with strong product management and technology implementation expertise, enabling them to bridge the gap between store operations, business objectives, and technology teams.
This role will drive labor optimization initiatives, workforce scheduling capabilities, compliance requirements, and user adoption while partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Finance, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for workforce scheduling and labor management platforms.
- Align product initiatives with operational objectives, labor budgets, compliance requirements, and business goals.
- Prioritize product enhancements based on customer needs, business impact, and operational efficiency.
Workforce Scheduling & Labor Optimization
- Lead the development and enhancement of workforce scheduling solutions.
- Partner with Data Science and Operations teams to improve labor forecasting and scheduling optimization capabilities.
- Ensure workforce scheduling solutions comply with applicable labor laws, predictive scheduling regulations, break requirements, and workforce policies.
- Analyze workforce metrics, labor utilization, staffing levels, and scheduling effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
User Research & Product Discovery
- Conduct research with store managers, field leaders, and store associates to understand workforce scheduling challenges and operational pain points.
- Translate user feedback and business requirements into detailed product requirements and actionable development plans.
- Advocate for user-centric solutions that improve workforce engagement, productivity, and customer experience.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Retail Operations, Finance, HR, and Data Science teams to deliver workforce management solutions.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Drive stakeholder alignment, manage competing priorities, and ensure successful delivery of product initiatives.
Change Management & Adoption
- Develop rollout strategies for new workforce management capabilities and system enhancements.
- Support training, communication, and adoption efforts to maximize business value and user engagement.
- Monitor implementation success and drive continuous improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Product Management experience supporting Workforce Management (WFM), Human Capital Management (HCM), Retail Operations Technology, or related enterprise platforms.
- Hands-on experience working in a retail store environment (Associate, Team Lead, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Store Manager, etc.).
- Experience with workforce scheduling systems, labor optimization, time and attendance, or workforce management implementations.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, workforce planning, labor management, and scheduling challenges.
- Experience managing enterprise software products and working closely with engineering teams.
- Ability to interpret labor metrics, operational KPIs, and financial performance data to support product decisions.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing or managing Workforce Management platforms such as UKG/Kronos, Blue Yonder, Workday, Legion, Reflexis, SAP SuccessFactors, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar solutions.
- Experience with labor forecasting, scheduling algorithms, and workforce optimization tools.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations related to workforce scheduling and labor management.
- Experience working with SaaS, enterprise applications, and large-scale retail technology implementations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven decision-making approach.
