Schedule

• June: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days per week)
• July: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 days per week)
• August: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days per week)

 
Job responsibilities

• The Field Assistant will provide support for corn detasseling activities in July and early August.
• Work may be extended if warranted and includes supporting seed production such as field scouting, data collection, roguing fields, and providing other support as needed.
• May also include limited operation of field equipment. This position may require working in inclement weather including windy conditions as well as the hot and cold.
• Detasseling is a critical activity for corn seed production.
• The successful candidate will be able to work extended hours when needed and be available on weekends during the month of July to provide support.
• The Field Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
• Assistant will coordinate closely with the Agronomy Supervisor and Research Specialist to support day to day field activities.
• Successful candidates will need to use a company vehicle for work and must have an excellent driving record.
• Priority will be given to candidates with a strong focus on safety and good attention to detail.
