Job Description

Job Position: Digital Banner Production Specialist
Duration: 12 Months (Extension potential based on budget, performance, and business need)
Location: Mettawa, IL 60045 (Hybrid Model)
Team Structure: Part of a rapidly growing, 1.5-year-old internal Digital Lab team operating like an internal digital production agency.

Position Purpose
The Banner Specialist is a unique, hybrid role that combines one-third (33%) digital production work with two-thirds (67%) project management, stakeholder coordination, and deployment support.
Instead of creating original, scratch-built creative concepts, this role functions within an internal production agency environment. You will receive existing assets from external creative agencies and recreate, clone, or iterate them for A/B testing and US Commercial marketing campaigns. This is a highly operational, execution-focused position rather than a traditional creative design role.

Key Responsibilities
1. Banner Production & Iteration

  • Create and modify iterative digital banner content for A/B testing using a specialized internal banner platform.
  • Leverage, clone, and adjust existing banners to build "test-and-learn" content aimed at improving target audience engagement rates.
  • Perform functional testing and rendering activities once assets are finalized to ensure proper digital display.
  • Partner with the internal creative agency when major graphic design files or foundational assets need updates.
2. Project Management, Review & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Process Navigation: Route created banners through the strict Material Review Process to secure compliance and regulatory approvals before handoff. Act as the primary project originator for this review workflow.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Share banner testing ideas and align with Omnichannel Strategists and Brand Marketers before sending assets for formal review.
  • Deployment Handoff: Coordinate closely with external media deployment partners and agencies who handle the live deployment of digital banners on websites.
  • Inventory & Asset Management: Maintain and update the enterprise banner inventory for supported brands, recommending new standardized enterprise templates where applicable.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback, log technical issues, and suggest tool enhancements to the Banner Product Owner to help shape the platform's future roadmap.
  • Process Documentation: Assist in defining, refining, and documenting team workflows as this relatively new function continues to scale and operationalize.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Core Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Business, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in digital marketing, interactive agency setups, or in-house corporate production environments.
  • Banner Ad Marketing: Hands-on experience building, modifying, and executing digital banner ads.
  • Experience working within or managing workflows for an advertising/digital agency.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences industry.
  • Familiarity with regulated marketing review and compliance approval processes (e.g., medical/legal/regulatory reviews).
Technical & Professional Skillset
  • The "Production vs. Design" Mindset: Comfort with production-focused, iterative design tasks (cloning, resizing, minor copy/image adjustments) rather than original concept creation.
  • Project Management & Organization: Outstanding ability to multi-task, manage multiple moving pieces, and track assets through complex approval layers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with HTML and CSS is highly beneficial and will serve as a strong indicator of success for non-design backgrounds.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to comfortably bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Leadership Competencies
  • Collaborative Spirit: A positive, "all for one" approach to team deliverables, goals, and shifting priorities.
  • Relationship Builder: Ability to quickly establish trust with cross-functional stakeholders to drive execution.
  • Agile Learner: Fast at grasping the "essence" of a project or technical tool, with the ability to pivot direction quickly when required.
  • Continuous Improver: Challenges the status quo, embraces the ideas of others, and actively helps nurture small optimizations into operational reality.
