Job Description
Location: Aibonito, PR
Shift E: Thursday–Friday (8-hour shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM) and Saturday–Sunday (12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM).
Job Purpose:
Responsible for handling sterile and non-sterile products using hand pallet trucks and forklifts, following established procedures and specifications to ensure proper sterilization and shipment to distribution centers or customers. The role includes placing dosimeters according to process requirements, maintaining accurate documentation (e.g., count verification, device accountability records, tally sheets), and supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of process equipment and work areas.
Responsibilities:
- Receive sterile and non-sterile products; palletize, count, and generate required documentation.
- Coordinate with the Lead Operator to obtain run numbers for product sterilization.
- Verify product counts by pallet and document them accurately.
- Place dosimeters in designated areas according to process specifications.
- Remove, count, and prepare products after sterilization, load into shipping containers.
- Retrieve dosimeters and complete all required documentation.
- Record sterilization processing times in logbooks and/or forms.
- Manage disposition of sub-assemblies and other gamma-sterilized products.
- Generate material movement manifests for sterilized products.
- Perform preventive maintenance on irradiator equipment.
- Request and supply stretch-wrapping materials; operate wrapping machine.
- Complete shipping documentation and inspect/clean containers before use.
- Manually and/or electronically document process data (e.g., process parameters, lot numbers, production quantities).
- Report health, safety, environmental hazards, incidents, and risks; participate in EHS system improvement activities.
- Collaborate with production, shipping personnel, supervisors, and customers to coordinate product movement.
- Work irregular hours, including holidays and shutdown periods, as required.
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to read and understand diagrams and specifications in English.
- Experience in gamma sterilization processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, calculators, hand pallet trucks, forklifts, wrapping machines, and basic tools.
- Valid driver’s license and forklift certification required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, and coordinate workflow with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work with production teams, shipping personnel, supervisors, and customers.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to meet physical demands of medium work (lifting 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs continuously).
