Position Title: Direct Materials Procurement Specialist
Work Location: Devens, MA
Assignment Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Mon- Fri(normal business hours)
Work Arrangement: 50% onsite required but need to be flexible to come more days as needed.


Summary:
This position will report to a site-based Strategic Sourcing & Procurement leader and will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives. This role will work directly with management level cross-functional stakeholders including manufacturing, material sciences, supply chain, category leads and quality to execute direct material procurement related activities.

This role will collaborate with a team of professional employees and is expected to bring new and innovative ideas and problem-solving skills while focusing on day-to-day and long-term goals and objectives.

This business-critical role will support on site manufacturing operational continuity and requires a strong ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities on a daily basis with minimal guidance. The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. There will be a focus on solving complex issues with a broad perspective - presenting data, conclusions, and best practices in multiple forums at site and network levels.

Responsibilities:
• This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, Training and the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) required by the job function.
• Ensure continuity of supply for cGMP direct materials for biologics manufacturing at the Devens site. Participate in open order report reviews and conference calls with critical suppliers. Triage and resolve escalations and continuity of supply risks for direct materials assigned. Collaborate with Supply Planning, Biologics Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering & Support, Material Science & Technology and Quality departments to understand part requirements, potential alternatives (parts/suppliers), and other risk mitigation opportunities. Facilitate discussions w/suppliers and key internal stakeholders to mitigate delivery risk.
• Lead new supplier and part qualification process for assigned categories of materials by collecting documentation from suppliers, requesting quotations, initiating vendor master setups, negotiating, etc. Review and score suppliers in RFP process, provide stakeholder feedback in selection process for new or expanding sources of supply. Participate in standardization of raw materials and consumables across the site and the network to drive efficiencies, cross-site safety stock, cost savings and reduction of business continuity risk.
• Create initial standard cost for new materials and submit to finance. Understand, create and apply conversion factors for various units of measure in SAP. Create and maintain Procurement SAP Master Data to include ASL, Purchasing Info Records, Outline Agreements, Source Lists, Lead Times, and occasionally process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and order confirmations as a backup. Manage Source List for multi-sourced parts to allow MRP to properly plan and forecast requirements by part and supplier.
• Identify and manage local suppliers, implement best practices and ensure local perspective inclusion in larger global procurement initiatives. Lead Regional/local sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead. Participate in Supplier Relationship Management programs. Develop effective relationships with key suppliers in a way that builds mutual respect, trust and drives performance in a manner consistent with company values and behaviors.
• Engage with Supplier Quality and Supplier Performance and Development colleagues as needed for supplier quality issues, RMA’s, return of materials, complaints, and CAPAs.
• Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, purchase price variance (PPV), receipt to promise (RTP), and other relevant KPI’s. Continuously evolve KPI’s as needed to measure areas needing improvement.
• Participate in annual budget process for the site operations, working closely with peers, category leaders, site finance, site supply chain, and Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Finance with “right first time” standard cost analysis. Participate in assigning reason codes to PPV Tool on a monthly basis in Tableau. Provide monthly projections as required.
• Support cGMP or Finance audit activities, as required, and in alignment with site quality and finance operations. Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records and audit compliance and governance.

Qualifications:
• Required Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 4+ years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning. Experience with direct procurement required
• Procurement suporting Tech Transfers experience preferred
• Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred (ex. yellow, green, blackbelt).
• Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers.
• The ideal individual is highly experienced in SAP Procurement module. Additional experience in Supply Chain, MRP Planning and Inventory modules are strongly preferred. Proficiency in other ERP systems may be acceptable.
• Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally and a continuous improvement approach to change.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using ARIBA is desired.
• Procurement skills such as developing relationships with suppliers, facilitating cross-functional meetings, escalating critical supply issues, and analyzing and reporting on supplier performance.
• Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
