Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled TechOps Specialist to support the build, implementation, and ongoing operation of a next-generation trading system within our Capital Markets technology group. This role will play a critical part in bridging development, infrastructure, and front-office trading teams to ensure a stable, scalable, and high-performing trading environment.
This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in trading platforms (Fidessa preferred), production support, and system integration, with a strong focus on real-time data, FIX connectivity, and incident resolution.

This role will play a critical part in bridging development, infrastructure, and front-office trading teams to ensure a stable, scalable, and high-performing trading environment.
This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in trading platforms (Fidessa preferred), production support, and system integration, with a strong focus on real-time data, FIX connectivity, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Trading System Build & Implementation
- Support the end-to-end build and rollout of a new trading platform, including system configuration, integration, and deployment
- Partner with development and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Contribute to system architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance
- Provide L2/L3 production support for trading applications, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution
- Debug and resolve complex production issues across trading workflows, data feeds, and connectivity
- Monitor system health and proactively identify risks or performance bottlenecks
- Manage and support FIX protocol integrations with exchanges, brokers, and internal systems
- Oversee real-time data flows and messaging systems (e.g., RTD, Solace, or equivalent)
- Ensure seamless integration of trading, reporting, and surveillance systems
- Coordinate and execute application deployments, upgrades, and migrations
- Manage environments across development, UAT, and production
- Maintain version control and release processes using tools such as Git and Jira
- Work closely with traders, compliance, and technology teams to support front-office needs
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in incident management calls and post-mortem analysis
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience supporting trading platforms (Fidessa strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in:
- SQL, Python, Java, Tcl
- Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with:
- FIX Protocol and electronic trading workflows
- Real-time messaging and data systems
- Version control tools (Git, Perforce) and ticketing systems (Jira)
- Strong understanding of:
- Equities and/or derivatives trading
- Order lifecycle and trade flows
- Market connectivity and exchange integrations
- Proven ability to debug and resolve production issues under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-availability environments
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience supporting or implementing Fidessa trading systems
- Exposure to regulatory reporting (e.g., CAT, trade surveillance)
- Experience with large-scale system migrations or cloud transformations
