Job Description
Music Publishing Operations Specialist (Level II)
Location: New York (On-site, hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated professional with 2+ years of experience in operations or data management. This role focuses on managing publishing operations, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting process improvements through automation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable automation solutions and improve operational processes
- Research and verify publishing ownership data using internal and third-party tools
- Manage day-to-day publishing operations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Perform data ingestion, validation, and quality assurance
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve data issues
- Monitor and report on operational metrics to identify trends and improvements
- Maintain documentation of workflows, processes, and SOPs
- Handle external partner queries and route them appropriately
- Conduct quality checks on reports before distribution
- Support ongoing data quality initiatives and track issue resolution
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in operations, data management, or similar roles
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets with large datasets
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in music publishing or related industry
- Understanding of publishing data (royalties, metadata, ownership)
- Familiarity with tools and formats like CWR, DDEX
- Experience with automation tools, Python, or SQL
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle pressure
