Location: Caguas, PR
Pay Rate: 10.50 / Hourly

Overall Responsibilities:
Maintains a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, clients and customers  by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Complies with security DEA regulations for controlled substances.

Primary functions: 

• Coordinate the security patrol on a shift basis to assure site integrity and property protection.
• Manage and monitor surveillance camera system,  Fire system and Access Control equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Makes scheduled tours to ensure security, and watches for conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire, water, leakage, spills, etc. 
• Supports the emergency team in case of alarm without compromising lives or business needs. Verify alarm trigger area to identify source. 
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Controls perimeter entrance to assure the security procedure and site security.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Reports to Supervisor or police authorities any unusual or suspicious condition detected.
• Guards employee entrances during arrival and departure of employees at main shift changes.
• Opens or locks doors, windows, gates at proper times based on plant operating schedule.
• Reports any incidence of visitor, driver or employee actions that could result in injury or loss to company.
• Checks incoming and outgoing packages, handbags, lunch boxes, computers, among others.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Secondary functions:  

• Acts as Receptionist on off shifts, breaks and weekends by answering telephone and greeting visitors. 
• Act as Security Officer Monitoring  on off shifts, breaks and weekends by moniiiitoring site surveillance camera systems,  Fire alarm system, access control.
• Conducts troubleshooting in security access control, fire systems, CCTV, roadways/walkways systems and other systems to ensure compliance with systems and security.
• Receive, inspect and issue entrance permits to deliveries and contractors. Inspect and verify proper shipping or authorized outgoing documentation. 
• Drive company cars as needed.

Minimum Requirements: 

• High School Diploma
• One or two years experience as Security Guard or Officer.
• Previous experience in the police or fire department preferred.
• Surveillance Skills
• Good judgment,  and safety oriented
• Reporting Skills
• Good communication skills in English and Spanish
