Corporate HR has a need for an experienced Business Systems Consultant 4. The business is implementing Workday HCM. Workday Finance was implemented several years ago. As part of this project, Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Time and Absence will be implemented in Workday, as well as some additional subprojects including integrating with a 3rd party Recruiting system (Jobvite).
The BSC will focus on Payroll, with a primary focus on writing user stories, testing the payroll module (integrations, configuration, etc), payroll compare testing, vendor loads into and out payroll, preparation for deployment, and interdependencies with other modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Time and Absence).
This position would be working closely with our Payroll BSCs, business partners, Corporate IT, implementation partner, QA testers, and others aligned to our Workday HCM implementation.
Top 3 must-have skills / Candidate Requirements:
1. Workday Payroll advanced experience, with an emphasis on testing WD Payroll: writing test plan, executing test plan, payroll end-to-end testing, etc.
2. Experience coordinating with other Workday module resources where there is crossover with Payroll.
3. Payroll vendor integrations: working with inbound and outbound Workday payroll integrations/uploads.
Additional Skills:
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to run reports in Workday (example: to assist with testing/data conversion efforts).
• Ability to write and define system requirements
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly collaborative environment.
• Strong listening, verbal, and written communications skills.
• Negotiation skills with the ability to influence others through sharing information and gaining commitment.
• Organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to details.
Optional Skills:
•Employee Accounting Experience: the connection between payroll and the account side (integration to General Ledger, etc).
Day to day responsibilities:
• Look at a business problem and define solutions within the new system
• Defines, contributes and/or coordinates the development and approval of the test plans.
• Executing and/or coordinates the executing of the test plans, approach and scripts.
• Documents, monitors and coordinates resolution of test issues per established processes.
• Evaluates risks associated with testing approaches and makes recommendations for alternative testing approaches.
• Help identify change management items for the training and organizational change management teams (processes changing between current state PeopleSoft and future state Workday).
• Work through deployment plan and support the implementation of Workday, from a Payroll perspective.
Who is this worker's main interaction going to be with on a daily basis?
• Business Systems Consultants (Payroll, and BSCs aligned to other Workday areas, 3rd party implementation partner resources, Business partners (primarily the ones aligned to Payroll), IT QA testers, IT resources aligned to the Workday HCM implementation.
Interview Process:
• 1 Teams Interview with the Manager and two others (one will be another Business System Consultant)
Questions: Technical Skills regarding payroll testing, implementation projects, etc.
