Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Assignment Duration: 12 Months
Location: Plymouth MN
This position is responsible for coordinating and executing daily logistics activities to support site operations, R&D, and office functions. The Logistics Specialist manages inbound and outbound shipments, inventory movements, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with safety, quality, and compliance requirements. Under direction of the SR Facilities Manager, this role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective logistics support to internal customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

The Logistics Specialist manages inbound and outbound shipments, inventory movements, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with safety, quality, and compliance requirements. Under direction of the SR Facilities Manager, this role ensures accurate, timely, and cost-effective logistics support to internal customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier scheduling, shipping documentation, and freight tracking.
- Receive, inspect, and document materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with site procedures.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and completion of shipping paperwork.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using approved inventory or enterprise systems.
- Move materials within the facility to support production, lab, and office needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Facilities, Manufacturing, R&D, Procurement) to prioritize logistics requests.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements during material handling and storage.
- Work with vendors, carriers, and service providers to resolve shipping issues or discrepancies.
- Support cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliations as required.
- Maintain organized storage areas using 6S principles.
- Learn, understand, and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and applicable cGMP requirements.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to logistics processes and material flow.
- Use material handling equipment as required and certified.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, warehouse, or material handling roles.
- Working knowledge of freight carriers and shipping documentation.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and maintain records.
- Understand and follow verbal and written safety and quality instructions.
- Basic English written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Customer service attitude.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of logistics, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience.
- Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Exposure to warehouse moving equipment, and delivery vehicles.
