Location: Remote (US-based)
Duration: 12 months (Contractor – potential to extend or convert based on fit and business need)
Schedule: M–F; hours can be discussed, but generally aligned to core business hours
Interview Process: One panel interview (possibly two interviews if the decision is between two candidates)
Role:
- Client’s Corporate Legal department is launching a modernization effort to streamline and re-platform key service delivery processes.
- We are looking for an experienced, hands on lead who can guide business partners through initiation, vendor selection, and early implementation planning for ServiceNow’s Legal Service Delivery & Contract Operations platform, translating complex business needs into clear requirements, delivery plans, and actionable implementation decisions.
- This role is weighted toward initiation, RFx, and implementation planning. This is a high visibility role that requires strong judgment, practical delivery leadership, and the ability to work effectively with partners at all levels across Business Systems, Corporate Legal, Legal Operations, and IT, and with external vendors.
- This role is not intended to perform day to day configuration or system administration, but to lead platform decisioning, solution framing, and implementation planning.
Key Responsibilities:
You will serve as a lead for a complex, cross functional effort from initiation through early implementation alongside other Business Systems Consultants of various levels. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and continue initiation activities – discovery, requirements definition, scope refinement, dependency mapping, and solution framing.
- Drive RFx and vendor engagement – support evaluation approach, vendor coordination, structured requirements artifacts, and SOW input and review.
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements and configuration recommendations – ensuring traceability from problem statements to proposed solutions.
- Partner with internal leaders to shape deliverables required for governance – including initiation outputs, implementation approach assumptions, and business case inputs.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to define implementation readiness – including delivery roadmap, risks, milestones, and integration considerations.
- Own and maintain governance-ready project artifacts – requirements, decision logs, plans, and executive-ready summaries to support sponsor alignment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders – bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to an evolving initiative.
- Information sharing and mentoring as needed – sharing ServiceNow delivery best practices and systems thinking.
Who You Will Work With:
- Other Business Systems Consultants supporting Legal Systems and this project
- Business stakeholders and sponsors within Corporate Legal and Legal Operations
- Corporate IT partners
- Data and reporting partners (as needed for requirements, metrics, and decision support)
- External vendors and potential implementation partners
Technical Skills:
- At least 10 years of experience in business systems, consulting, implementations, and complex delivery leadership.
- 3-5+ years of hands on ServiceNow experience in implementation and/or configuration decisioning (i.e., translating requirements into platform design, guiding configuration choices, and validating build approaches). We will consider less tenure if the candidate has led multiple implementations and can demonstrate strong platform fluency.
- Proven experience leading implementations from discovery through implementation planning and delivery.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with best practices in analytics and reporting, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Strong business analysis and systems consulting fundamentals – requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis, and traceability from business needs to solution design.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into actionable requirements and configuration recommendations, partnering effectively with the business, IT, and vendors.
- Experience driving vendor engagement and delivery artifacts – RFx support, structured requirements documentation, SOW input and review, and decision documentation.
- Strong understanding of implementation mechanics and governance across the delivery lifecycle (i.e., planning, dependencies, risks, milestones, and operational readiness).
- Comfortable working in enterprise toolsets (Microsoft Office, Visio, Azure DevOps, and related collaboration tools).
Soft Skills:
- Proactive, structured problem solver – able to break down ambiguity into clear workstreams, deliverables, and decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication – able to produce clear, executive ready documentation and facilitate cross functional alignment.
- Strong stakeholder presence – able to work effectively with sponsors, business partners, IT partners, and vendors, and set clear expectations.
- Independent driver – able to drive deliverables forward with minimal oversight while staying aligned to program goals and constraints.
- Collaborative and pragmatic – helps bring momentum without creating friction, and is comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Willingness to learn – does thorough research, fact-finding, and isn’t afraid to ask questions.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience from a consulting background will be highly regarded.
- Experience with ServiceNow Legal Service Delivery and/or Contract Operations.
- Proven experience leading two or more ServiceNow implementations (or major ServiceNow programs).
- Experience with integrations and enterprise ecosystems (data flows, reporting needs, downstream dependencies, and cross platform coordination).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Experience working in a large, complex organization with multiple stakeholder groups and governance touchpoints.
Degree/Certifications:
- Prefer a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or discipline.
- Number of ServiceNow implementations and the candidate’s role on each (lead vs. contributor)
- Which phases they owned (discovery, requirements, implementation planning, delivery)
- Any ServiceNow certifications (if applicable)
