Position Title: Business Consultant
Duration: 6 months
Working hours: 9-5
Working Location: Toronto, On M5K 2A1 [Hybrid, 2 days minimum in office; Thursday collab day]
Role Mandate: This contractor is required to maintain delivery continuity and mitigate execution risk across active and upcoming initiatives within the Securitization portfolio (i.e., OSFI Intraday Liquidity, Payment Prep integration for US Wires).

Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Accountable for collaborating with various teams such as Front Office, Finance, Market Risk, Global Middle Office, Back Office, and various technology teams.
- Collect, clarify, and translate requirements into new reporting/application features and functionality.
- Elicit and document business requirements, risks, and priorities to establish a clear understanding of items in scope.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders and ensure the ability to get buy-in on feasible solutions.
- Analyze/interpret business requirements and perform current/target/gap/impact analyses.
- Validate that the proposed/designed solution(s) and associated testing approach will support meeting the articulated business requirements.
- Identify and implement fixes with regard to production or file errors.
- Leasing with downstream groups as well as external stakeholders.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of requirements/design methodology - detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of investigating complex/technical issues.
- Familiarity with data modelling and design, static data, and data repositories.
- Providing and reviewing solution designs and supporting project planning.
- Strong Capital Markets work experience in IT or business environment (i.e., MBS, Securitization, Fixed Income knowledge) and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math, or business.
- Expertise in SQL/Oracle database should be able to create/query tables, optimize queries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pivot when necessary.
- Any retail mortgage history should have a proven record of being able to work within a quickly paced role.
- Must be proactive, curious, and looking to engage with the various projects, tools, and partners as required.
- Front-end hands-on experience with securitization tools.
- Along with technical prowess, the candidate should be able to carry themselves confidently in a professional setting and be able to effectively translate business requirements and solutions into tangible talking points.
- Looking for people who have had roles with significant tenures that demonstrate a commitment to their position.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in the US Whole Loans Business within capital markets.
