Title: Account Executive (Freight Brokerage - Full Cycle Sales)
Location: North York, ON M6B 1W8 (100% onsite)
Salary Range: $59000.00 - $60000.00 per Year
About the Company
Client is a freight brokerage (non-asset based), meaning they do not own trucks or drivers. They work with a network of carrier partners and sell their ability to move freight efficiently and cost-effectively across Canada and cross-border into the US.
Role Overview
This is a full-cycle, cradle-to-grave sales role focused on building and growing a book of business from scratch. The Account Executive is responsible for both shipper acquisition and carrier coordination, making it a two-sided sales role within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Prospect and generate new business through cold calling, outbound emails, and networking
· Identify target accounts, build pipeline, and close new shipper relationships
· Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing
· Source and secure carrier capacity to fulfill client shipments
· Coordinate freight movement from pickup to delivery, including pricing and execution
· Handle operational challenges such as delays, carrier issues, and real-time problem solving
· Maintain and grow accounts by developing repeat lanes and consistent freight volume
· Build a book of business with recurring revenue streams
· Work closely with internal sales leadership and operations teams
Day-to-Day Environment
· High-volume outbound activity with a strong focus on cold outreach and prospecting
· No inbound leads provided; candidates are expected to build pipeline independently
· Fast turnaround sales cycle where opportunities are time-sensitive
· Combination of sales, account management, and operations coordination
· High-pressure, competitive environment with constant activity and urgency
· Early-stage reps handle everything independently; support staff added after scaling book
Candidate Profile
· 1+ years of experience in B2B sales, outbound sales, or business development
· Experience in cold calling, prospecting, and new business generation
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Highly motivated, competitive, and performance-driven
· Comfortable working in a high-rejection, high-activity environment
· Organized and self-directed with ability to manage multiple accounts and shipments
· Ability to handle pressure, solve problems quickly, and adapt in real-time
· Coachable and open to feedback
· Post-secondary education preferred but not required
Preferred Backgrounds
· Freight brokerage, 3PL, logistics sales, transportation sales
· Carrier sales or logistics coordination experience
· Outside sales, field sales, or high-volume outbound roles
· Construction, industrial, or renovation sales
· Door-to-door or highly competitive sales environments
