Position Title: Associate, Distribution Support / Project Manager
Duration: 18 months (Possibility of Extension and Conversion)
Location: Toronto, ON (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Schedule: Mon-Fri - 9-5 (7.5 working hours per day, 30 min lunch)
 
Role Overview:
  • Client’s Global Asset Management provides investment solutions to all types of investors across Canada in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. We are seeking an entrepreneurial self-starter with exceptional people skills, a flexible attitude and attention to detail, to lead sales support for one of our distribution channels. The role is responsible for project management of various sales, marketing and communications initiatives within a given sales channel as well as the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of company’s Global Asset Management (GAM) distribution events. These events range in size and format (in-person, virtual, and hybrid) and are designed to promote the lineup of company’s GAM investment products, while strengthening relationships between sales teams and their clients and advisors. The role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality client and advisor experiences while continuously improving event-related processes and outcomes.
 
  • The Associate manages the full events program lifecycle, provides operational and marketing subject matter expertise, and partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure events are strategically aligned, well-executed, and measurable. This role reports to the Lead, Distribution Support and involves approximately ~20% travel. This role works closely with one or more channel sales leaders.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development
  • Responsible for end-to-end content development, including a quarterly magazine and full editorial support.
  • Manages ongoing online and website content updates.
  • Develops and maintains virtual sales briefcases with client-focused materials, guidance, and resources.
  • Supports investor relations and prepares portfolio manager commentaries.
  • Creates and tailors content and events to meet the needs of multiple target audiences. 
Strategy & Program Management
  • Contribute to the overall events strategy by identifying opportunities to enhance the events program and optimize return on investment.
  • Recommend solutions based on analysis of business issues, event performance, and strategic priorities.
  • Optimize the sequencing and mix of events to support sales objectives and distribution strategies.
  • Monitor and track performance against plans, forecasts, initiatives, and objectives. 
Planning & Development
  • Lead integrated project planning for assigned initiatives including events from inception through post-event evaluation.
  • Manage sales and event calendars across assigned distribution channels.
  • Support development of event themes, agendas, speaker lineups, and content.
  • Contribute to event-related marketing copy, registration sites, and communications.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to finalize materials: design, digital, email, compliance, marketing, translation, product etc.
  • Design and continuously improve event planning processes, tools, and systems. 
Execution & Delivery
  • Oversee execution of events including venue management, registration, production, and logistics.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Lead event run-throughs and ensure materials and signage are prepared.
  • Maintain audit controls, and reconcile invoices.
  • Apply industry best practices to deliver cost-effective event experiences.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Track details of each event.
  • Conduct post-event assessments including attendee feedback and sales impact.
  • Develop event effectiveness reports and recommend enhancements.
  • Perform program and process reviews to ensure compliance and identify improvements. 
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Investment, Design, Digital, Compliance, and Translation teams.
  • Provide operational marketing expertise and decision support.
 
 
Must Have Experience:
  • Seven or more years of relevant project management and event planning and execution experience in a FI/banking environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing, communications, event management, and/or project management.
  • Experience in asset management or investment industry an asset.
  • Knowledge of investment industry regulations preferred.
  • Experience working with agencies and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and event technology platforms such as Cvent and Formsite
