Description
- Investigate, analyze and settle recovery (subrogation) and possibly liability and property damage claims filed by or against the Company within prescribed monetary limits.
- Act as a witness at court hearings on behalf of the Company. Also support claim set-ups and other administrative claim functions.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and analyze matters for recovery (subrogation, liability, motor vehicle, personal injury ,property damage, general liability, recovery and other claims filed by or against the Company.
- Settle, adjust or deny claims. Gather evidence for hearings, trials, and other dispositions through visual inspections, photographs, interviewing and questioning witnesses.
- Examine and analyze records and reports. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to investigations.
- Confer with engineers, contractors, attorney(s) and claimants to determine the extent of property damage claims, recommend action to be taken for settlement.
- Coordinate reimbursement, repair and/or replacement activities between claimants and contractors.
- Testify and represent the Company at court hearings regarding claims cases.
- Collect funds from persons who have damaged Company property by locating them, negotiating settlements and arranging billing correspondence.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
