Title: Reporting Analyst III
Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB
Duration: 1 year
Work Model: Mon, Tues, Thurs from office / Weds, Fri from home

Role Summary:
  • The Reporting Analyst will support the Core Programs Portfolio Management team by delivering high-quality portfolio reporting, analytics, and executive-ready materials.
  • This role is suited for a professional with a strong project controls and analytics background. This includes acting as a key point of contact and liaison with all areas of the Projects organization by understanding portfolio performance and supporting AIPM and business unit customers throughout the lifecycle.
  • The successful candidate will partner closely with Portfolio Management Specialists and the Supervisor, Portfolio Management & Reporting, and will perform several functions, including preparing executive presentations, owning recurring reports, and supporting ad-hoc analytical requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio & Executive Reporting
  • Support the preparation of the Weekly Core Programs performance management reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Support the preparation of the Monthly Core Programs Portfolio Summary reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Prepare and maintain executive-level presentation decks, including the monthly High Priority Projects deck.
  • Update and manage the annual reporting calendar, ensuring alignment with leadership and governance timelines.
Governance, Stakeholder Support & Analytics
  • Perform project variance analysis, and other ad-hoc analytics to support leadership inquiries.
  • Deliver probability analysis updates monthly
  • Support management of projects impacted by holiday freezes, including development and maintenance of supporting processes.
  • Support the reporting of High Consequence Projects, including development of communication processes, stakeholder mapping, and reporting cadence.
Tools, Systems & Enablement
  • Maintain Portfolio Management reporting tools, ensuring data integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Support SharePoint management, including document management and access control.
  • Support leadership field visit planning through data preparation and reporting materials.
Required Qualifications:
  • Related university degree in an applicable discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in project controls, portfolio reporting, or performance analytics
  • Continued learning focused on business, economics, finance, accounting, and or engineering.
  • Strong emotional awareness and ability to influence others with portfolio and project decisions
  • Strong foundation in cost control, schedule management, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level presentation decks (Directors, VP and senior leadership audience)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI or similar reporting tools strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a portfolio, program, or PMO-style environment
  • Ability to manage multiple recurring and ad hoc deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience supporting capital programs or large infrastructure portfolios
  • Prior experience transitioning work from Project Controls into centralized reporting or analytics functions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical data into clear business insights.

Reporting Relationship:
  • This role reports directly to the Supervisor, Portfolio Management & Reporting and works closely with Portfolio Management Specialists, Project Controls, and senior leadership stakeholders.
