Job Description

Job Title: User Experience Designer II
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Duration: 8 Months (Potential for Extension/Conversion)


Role Overview
Client’s UX team is seeking a User Experience Designer II to support the design and development of a flagship internal desktop application (One IT Desktop App).
This role will focus on end-to-end UX design, including research, interaction design, and usability testing, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Create process flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity design mockups
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define user problems and solutions
  • Translate business and user requirements into intuitive design experiences
  • Conduct usability testing and analyze user behavior using tools like Omniture SiteCatalyst
  • Present design concepts to stakeholders, including leadership and executives
  • Ensure alignment with UX best practices, usability standards, and design systems
  • Contribute to innovation in web and desktop application UX design
 
Daily Activities
  • Work schedule: Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Design, prototype, and validate UX solutions
  • Review implemented designs against specifications
 
Required Qualifications
  • 3–6 years of UX/UI design experience (web or software applications)
  • Strong skills in:
    • Communication (written & verbal)
    • Wireframing & mockups
    • Information architecture
  • Experience with user-centered design (UCD) principles
  • Proficiency in design tools such as:
    • Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Dreamweaver (or similar)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX design work
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience)
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in:
    • User research & usability testing
    • Prototyping (HTML, CSS, JavaScript preferred)
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to work in Agile, fast-paced environments
  • Experience working with technical teams
  • Ex-Amazon experience is a plus
