Job Description

Location: Caguas, PR
Payrate: $10.85 /hourly
Shift: 2nd shift: 1:30 PM till 10:00 PM 
(Must be flexible to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.)

Summary:

Performs inspection and testing of purchased materials, components, and finished products in accordance with established policies and procedures. Conducts visual, dimensional, and functional inspections following documented standards to ensure product quality and compliance.


Duties:

  • Performs inspection and testing of materials and products according to written procedures and specifications.
  • Records inspection and test data accurately as prescribed by documented instructions.
  • Recommends improvements to policies, procedures, and inspection processes when applicable.
  • Documents non-conformances in the Non-Conforming Material Review (NCMR) system.
  • Ensures compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and assigned tasks.
  • Maintains effective communication and collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Supports company initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a quality or inspection-related role.
  • Previous experience performing quality inspections preferred.
  • Prior experience inspecting medical device components is a plus.
  • Experience using optical measurement equipment, hand tools, gauges, and pressure/force testing devices.
  • Training in blueprint reading and familiarity with inspection sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across multiple levels.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
