Job Title: Project Manager Senior
Location: Remote (Preference: California, but flexible)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible extension)
 
Work Schedule:
Standard: 8 AM – 5 PM PST
Flexible for global collaboration (early/shifted hours acceptable)
 
R&D Resource Management Project Lead (US-Remote)
We are seeking a highly adaptable and experienced project management professional to support a portfolio of cross-functional initiatives within an R&D environment. This individual will play a key role in driving project execution, supporting system implementations, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders through strong communication and change management practices. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic coordination and hands-on execution, with proven experience managing multiple projects, navigating ambiguity, and ramping quickly in fast-paced environments. Strong stakeholder management, organizational skills, and experience working with large datasets or system implementations are critical for success. While biotech or pharma experience is a plus, it is not required. Candidates from adjacent industries with relevant project and data experience are encouraged. This role requires a proactive, communicative professional who demonstrates stability in prior roles and can effectively partner across global teams.
 
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced contract professional to help grow and mature the R&D resource management ecosystem by leading strategic projects that enhance visibility, efficiency, and integration across functions. This role will drive initiatives that connect resource planning, forecasting, and capability mapping, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and operational excellence.
 
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead multiple projects focused on expanding and optimizing the resource management ecosystem.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful execution.
  • Drive connections between resource supply and forecasting applications.
  • Align business processes with system capabilities to reduce manual intervention and improve scalability.
  • Pilot innovative solutions linking role-based allocations to just-in-time learning assignments in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Gather and document business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Develop user stories and acceptance criteria for enhancements to resource management platforms.
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure solutions meet functional needs.
  • Oversee development of training materials and documentation for new processes and system features.
  • Support onboarding and adoption across R&D functions.
  • Act as a liaison between business teams, product owners, and technical partners.
  • Communicate progress and outcomes effectively to leadership and cross-functional teams.
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of directly related experience OR
  • Master’s degree and 6 years of directly related experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of directly related experience OR
  • Associate degree and 10 years of directly related experience OR
  • High School diploma/GED and 12 years of directly related experience
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business analysis, project management, resource management systems, or R&D operations.
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, forecasting tools, and learning management systems.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, including writing user stories and managing backlogs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with resource management platforms.
  • Experience with process mapping and system integration projects.
  • Knowledge of just-in-time learning strategies and LMS configuration.
