Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Duration: 12 Months(Possibility of Extension)
Location: 46077, Zionsville, IN
 
Education:

• High School diploma required
• AS/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field preferred
• Master’s degrees will NOT be considered

Experience & Fit:

• Able to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong task-prioritization skills to meet project goals
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of basic plant/animal biology and aseptic culturing techniques (desirable)
• Experience with aquatic organisms or terrestrial invertebrates (a plus)
• Experience with lab automation (a plus)

 
Responsibilities

• Maintain testing organisms (zebrafish, aquatic invertebrates).
• Conduct assays and lab activities related to zebrafish culture maintenance and breeding.
• Under supervision, weigh materials, prepare reagents, and run production assays using lab instruments and automation systems.
• Ensure successful testing by following operating instructions and maintaining supplies.
• Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment as needed.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
• Attend and participate in team and department meetings.
• May involve work with live organisms including insects, bees, and insect or avian cell lines.
