Technical Writer - Senior
Austin, TX (Hybrid Onsite)
Duration: 6 to 12 months

 

DESCRIPTION:  

• Write and maintain comprehensive API documentation, SDK guides, and developer tutorials.
• Collaborate with engineering to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear, developer-friendly content.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with style guidelines.
• Review and edit for clarity, usability, and technical accuracy.
• Use coding skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar) to automate repetitive documentation tasks.
• Work with XML DITA and Oxygen XML Author for structured content management.
• Use AI tools (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) to improve writing efficiency and content quality.
• Use AI for content drafting, style checking, and consistency reviews.
• Stay current with AI developments that benefit documentation workflows.

Required Qualifications

• 3–7 years of technical writing experience, preferably for developer-facing products or APIs.
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and clarity.
• Basic to intermediate coding/scripting abilities (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
• Experience with XML DITA and Oxygen XML Author.
• Familiarity with docs-as-code (Markdown, Git/GitHub).
• Knowledge of API documentation standards and tools (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman).
• Experience with AI tools for content creation or automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the payments industry.
• Knowledge of AI prompt engineering techniques.
