Phlebotomist II
Duration: 3 months CONTRACT TO HIRE
Shift: One position would be 5:30am-2pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend 4:30am to 9am with one day off during the week.
The second position would be 6:30am-3pm Monday through Friday and every other weekend 4:30am to 9am with one day off during the week.
Location:Oconomowoc, WI 53066.

Training Note
First day of training will be at the Milwaukee branch. Additional training may take place at an IOP location before transitioning to the Oconomowoc worksite.
Key Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Minimum 2 years of strong phlebotomy experience (more preferred)
- Strong pediatric experience required (comfortable with patients as young as 8 months old)
- Experience with geriatrics and difficult draws (e.g., recovering addicts, mental health patients)
- Experience in hospital or behavioral health settings is highly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to stand for most of the shift and perform 30–40 draws per day
- Ability to work independently, especially during morning shifts
- Must meet vaccine requirements: MMR, TB, Hep B (Hep B may be declined)
- Must pass a color vision test
Preferred Skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Strong phlebotomy technique (straight needle and butterfly)
Certifications:
Valid Phlebotomy certification preferred (not mandatory; experience is key)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures (blood draws) for patient intakes and discharges
- Process, label, centrifuge, split, and package specimens for transport
- Follow strict protocols for specimen integrity and temperature control
- Work across a behavioral health hospital campus (patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics)
- Manage daily assignments for specific wings/floors
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients
- Follow OSHA and DEP compliance standards
- Handle occasional phone duties and basic data entry
Work Environment
Large behavioral health campus (Rogers Behavioral Health).
Fast-paced hospital setting with mental health patients. Exposure to a wide variety of cases—from young children to elderly patients, including those with challenging veins.
