Job Description

Position Title: Operations Officer II (Bilingual – English/French)
Duration: 2 years
Working Location: Montreal, QC (7250 Mile End)
Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days onsite (may transition to 4 days onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours/week; 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM OR 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
 
Description:
The Operations Officer II (Bilingual) role is part of a back-office maintenance team supporting mortgage operations. This position involves processing and maintaining mortgage-related transactions, including mortgage discharges, account updates, and payment applications.
The role requires handling high volumes of data entry and documentation, working with government entities such as CRA and Revenu Québec, and ensuring all transactions are accurate, compliant, and completed within service level agreements (SLAs).
This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the operational side of banking, work with multiple internal processes, and grow within a dynamic team environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily mortgage maintenance tasks, including mortgage discharge processing
  • Triage and handle solicitor requests for mortgage statements
  • Perform high-volume data entry into internal mortgage systems
  • Maintain and update security library and documentation records
  • Collect and apply interest payments to mortgage accounts
  • Process account closures and perform basic accounting entries
  • Transfer funds between accounts and balance GL accounts
  • Update internal systems ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within defined SLA timelines
  • Maintain high accuracy while handling sensitive customer data
  • Collaborate within team and participate in coaching and performance reviews
Must Have:
  • Bilingual (English & French) – strong verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum 2 years of data entry experience
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or bookkeeping
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Ability to meet SLAs and productivity targets
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have:
  • Background in real estate or mortgage operations
  • Legal background or law-related education
