Role: Materials Supervisor II
Location: Redford Township, MI, 48239
Duration: 9 months assignment
Shift Schedule: Midnight shift, M-F 11pm - 7am (Potential overtime)

Summary:

• Coordinate plant material flow from receiving dock to point of use on the assembly line, ensuring smooth operations.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, shipping records, and efficient movement of raw materials.
• Support process standardization and team coordination within material flow operations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (approx. 90%) across material flow and receiving functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recommend improvements to enhance production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
• Review daily operations and collaborate with technical and administrative teams to resolve production or process-related issues.
• Maintain standardized processes for material technicians and team leads within assigned areas.
• Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, inventory records, and personnel documentation.

Skills:

• Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Education/Experience:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree – in any field
• Typically requires 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Relevant experience being leadership and automotive plant experience
• Leadership role supervisor for a union plant is relevant experience
• Decision maker for daily activities
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Responsible for staffing decisions such as hiring, firing, rewarding, training, and Developing employees
• SAP Time keeping
• Showcase leadership and adaptability on resume ability to lead 35-40 employee team, and union experience. (Preferred)
