Job Title: IT Senior Project Manager (AMI 2.0 Program)
Location: Rosemead, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

 
Job Summary (Simple / Candidate-Friendly)
This role is for a Senior IT Project Manager leading a large Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 2.0) program.
Unlike a support PM role, this position is more hands-on and leadership-focused, owning the full project lifecycle, driving planning, solution design, vendor management, and execution strategy.
You’ll be responsible for technical planning, resource strategy, and ensuring successful delivery of a complex utility IT program.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle (planning → execution → closure)
  • Drive solution blueprinting and technical design planning
  • Create resource plans (roles, effort, cost estimates)
  • Coordinate with system integrators and vendors
  • Lead business process mapping and requirements clarification
  • Oversee integration, data, infrastructure, and testing workstreams
  • Plan build phase readiness (environments, testing, deployment)
  • Ensure alignment across technical and business teams
  • Manage budget, scope, timelines, and risks
  • Act as a hands-on PM while also leading the team
 
Must-Have Skills
  • Strong experience managing large IT programs (end-to-end)
  • Experience in utility or regulated industries
  • Experience with AMI / Smart Grid projects (AMI 1.0 or 2.0)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • IT infrastructure
    • System integrations (MDMS, OMS, SAP, ADMS, etc.)
  • Experience with solution blueprinting & implementation planning
  • Experience in cloud migration (on-prem → cloud)
  • Strong stakeholder management & leadership skills
  • Ability to work across business + technical domains
  • Hands-on execution mindset (not just oversight)
 
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
  • Understanding of meter-to-cash process
  • Experience with large data conversion projects
  • Experience in strategy / consulting / planning roles
  • Strong Excel & data analysis skills
  • Ability to present to senior leadership & non-technical stakeholders
 
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering, IT, Business, or similar)
