Position Title: Compounding Pharmacy Technician I
Work Location: Bloomsbury, NJ
Assignment Duration: 06 Months
Work Schedule: Off shift and weekend work will be required; 4/10 schedule. It’s a 24/7 manufacturing facility
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary: The Compounding Pharmacy Technician I position is responsible for compounding sterile preparations as per work instructions under pharmacist supervision and/or supervisor. In addition, this person assists in cleaning and maintenance of the work environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Complies with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
- Ensures cleaning and garbing policy is followed per site policies and procedures
- Compounds all required types of sterile preparations accurately and in compliance with batch records
- Operates all compounding equipment accurately and according to policy and procedure
- Prepares work area and materials thoroughly prior to compounding
- Compounds daily without fingertip growth during manual and semi-automated compounding operations
- Performs cleaning of the clean room areas thoroughly and according to policy
- Maintains a high degree of productivity within recommended guidelines
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and continually strive to improve efficiency
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the job, completing all annual competencies and skills validations
- Passes all initial and on-going validations and advanced complex media-fill verifications
- Responsible for activities in production area(s) to meet goals, and quality objectives
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Effectively integrates knowledge into job and continuously attains new knowledge
- Understands and adheres to policies and procedures
- Comply with 503B guidelines; cGMPs, and company standards
- Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor; Assist other areas as needed (picking and preparation operations, etc.)
- Immediate notification to production supervision/management of deviations to established processes or procedures
- Arrives at work as scheduled and notifies supervisors in a timely manner of any absences
- Recognizes priorities and takes action; makes productive use of time
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification & Experience:
- Manual dexterity and an eye for detail are essential for precise manipulations
- Flexibility to don clean room garments and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Recognizes priorities and takes appropriate follow-up action
- Ability to successfully interact with co-workers on various teams and at various levels to achieve desired outcomes
- Good decision-making skills
- Continually strive to improve efficiency without compromising quality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with other departments within the organization and with people at all levels of the organization

- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Knowledgeable in ISO 5/7 environment cleanroom gowning
- Basic mathematical skills, including knowledge of metric system and its unit conversion
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and how it applies to specific responsibilities and manufacturing operations
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the posting state preferred
- ACPE Sterile products certification preferred
- IV bags and/or syringe compounding experience preferred
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Intermittent walking and sitting to perform job functions; however, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time may be necessary
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: stooping, reaching, standing, grasping, walking, feeling, talking, and hearing
- Cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment will be required in designated areas which cover head, parts of the face, core body, and arms/legs/feet
- Makeup, gum, nail polish, jewelry or other potential microbial sources are prohibited in controlled areas
- Clean room environment is an enclosed, restricted space, with controlled air pressure and temperature conditions
- Use of chemicals, and exposure to sanitization agents are expected
- Ability to exert and lift to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or to constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Off shift and weekend work will be required
