Job Description

Job Title: AML Adverse Media Business Analyst
Location: Remote for now but needs to able to go back to office when needed.
Duration: 7.5 months Assignment
Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, M to F, core business hours, OT as needed
Office Locations: New York, NY 10017, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054, Lexington, SC, 29072, Greenville, SC 29607, Boston, MA 02109
 
Summary:
  • An AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Adverse Media Business Analyst is responsible for identifying and escalating potential adverse media matches for a client Bank customer using a portfolio monitoring application.
  • Scope of Project: Adverse media name screening.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews cases based on queue assignment for potential matches, focusing on key demographics such as name (all variations/translations, etc.), date of birth/age, and address/location.
  • Works to disprove or escalate to Level 1 analyst for review based on decision matrix tool.
  • Documents rationale for all dispositions for Level 1 analyst and Quality Assurance review.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with AML regulations and policies.
  • This position is located in the Financial Crimes Risk Management ("FCRM") Group, which is responsible for the detection, investigation, and reporting of potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities conducted through client Bank.
  • Training: Participating in AML compliance training.
  • Staying Updated: Staying informed about emerging threats and trends in financial crime.
  • Skills and Requirements: Strong analytical thinking skills, active listening, organization, time management, and attention to detail in high-volume work are all crucial for identifying potential matches among the Client Bank customer base.
  • Knowledge of AML Regulations: A thorough understanding of adverse media credible sources, predicate crime/activity and clear implication of a client Bank customer.
  • 2 hours a week approximately
  • Minimal interactions with internal resources
Must-Have Hard Skills:
  • Bachelor or related studies preferred.
  • 2 years of prior banking, financial institution work experience.
  • 2 years of strong multitasking skills and able to manage high volume work experience.
  • 1-year previous AML experience.
  • Strong multitasking skills and able to manage high volume work.
  • Ms office suite proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of AML regulations.

Soft Skills:
  • Active listening and attention to detail.
  • Time management.
  • Large workload experience.
