Title: Operations Officer II
Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion based on performance)
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite – 77 Bloor Street West)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Onsite 5 days/week for first 3 months; then 4 days onsite
Description:
The Operations Officer II role is part of a back-office team providing day-to-day operational support within Operations & Technology. This position involves processing high volumes of transactions/accounts, ensuring accuracy, meeting deadlines, and maintaining service level standards.
The role requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on attention to detail, organization, and efficiency. The candidate will interact with external partners and handle sensitive customer data while supporting overall operational effectiveness. Responsibilities:
- Process and review assigned accounts daily; approve or reject based on guidelines
- Handle high-volume transaction processing with strong accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain proper reporting and documentation of processed transactions
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet daily deadlines and service level goals
- Support external partner interactions and resolve queries as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and risk controls
- Identify discrepancies or risks and escalate issues appropriately
- Participate in daily team huddles (~15 minutes) and workflow distribution
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
- Maintain audit-ready records and ensure data accuracy
Must Have:
- 1–2 years of experience in banking, financial services, or high-volume operations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
- Experience with reporting and data handling
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in banking or financial institutions
- Exposure to trade processing or financial products (e.g., loans, deposits, FX, money market)
- Knowledge of operational platforms or systems
