Job Description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46077
Duration: 19+ Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)
Shift Time: 8am-4pm
 
Job Summary:
  • The primary focus of this role is the precise preparation of chemical standards, reagents, and solutions required for high-throughput analytical testing.
  • The successful candidate will ensure that every solution meets rigorous quality and regulatory standards, serving as the foundation for accurate scientific data.
 
Any specific skills, requirements or experience you want in a candidate: AS ok, BS preferred in Science fields; General Lab Skills and Solution Prep.
Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required? No
Any exposure to common allergens? Plants, Chemicals
Will they be driving? No
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Standard and Solution Preparation based on orders from multiple research teams.
  • Strict adherence to SOPs.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to understand timelines and develop improved workflows.
  • Ensure required documentation is captured and maintained within GLP requirements.
  • Maintain instrument records for supported teams within internal software tools.
  • Assist in maintaining GLP documentation related to instruments and software.
 
Qualifications\Skills:
  • Education: Minimum: Associate’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related laboratory science.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) Chemistry, Biology, or a related laboratory science.
  • Analytical Weighing: Mastery of analytical balances, including proper taring, calibration checks, and avoiding cross-contamination.
  • Volumetric Liquid Handling: Proficiency with volumetric flasks, graduated cylinders, and manual/automated micropipettes (positive displacement vs. air displacement).
  • Chemical Handling: Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), proper PPE, and the safe handling of concentrated acids, bases, and organic solvents.
  • SOP Adherence: A strict disciplined approach to following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without unauthorized deviations.
  • Inventory Management: Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) for tracking chemical inventory and solution usage.
