Position Title: Operations Officer III
Duration: 12 months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion based on performance)
Location : Toronto, ON (Onsite – 77 Bloor Street West)
Schedule: Onsite 5 days/week for first 90 days; then 1 day WFH/week (Anchor days: Tuesday & Wednesday)
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Description:
The Operations Officer III role is part of a back-office team supporting client Securities lending and capital markets operations, including exposure to prime brokerage and trading environments. This position focuses on processing, reconciling, and settling high-volume financial transactions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
The role requires working across multiple systems and handling sensitive financial data in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. It offers strong exposure to securities lending platforms, settlement processes, and trading support functions, making it a great opportunity for candidates looking to grow within capital markets operations.

Description:
The Operations Officer III role is part of a back-office team supporting client Securities lending and capital markets operations, including exposure to prime brokerage and trading environments. This position focuses on processing, reconciling, and settling high-volume financial transactions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Process and settle securities lending transactions, including loans, borrows, repayments, and collateral movements
- Perform daily reconciliations and investigate/resolve financial discrepancies
- Manage settlements through systems such as CDS and DTC
- Monitor and report settlement issues to trading and margin teams, ensuring timely resolution
- Support trading desks with real-time position checks, movement tracking, and inquiries
- Perform operational functions including mark-to-market, contract compare, fees & rebates, and recalls
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for all transactions and settlements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, AML policies, and regulatory requirements
- Handle FX and wire requests within assigned authorization limits
- Meet daily productivity, accuracy, and deadline expectations
- Participate in team meetings (~30 mins/day), training (60–90 days), and cross-training activities
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience in banking or financial services
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
- Knowledge of capital markets, securities lending, or trading operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive financial data
Nice to Have:
- CSC, CFA, FRM, or similar certifications
- Experience with CDS/DTC settlements, securities lending, or trade lifecycle
- Exposure to settlements, trading support, or prime brokerage operations
- Basic coding or automation knowledge
