Role: Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Blacksburg, VA 24060
Duration: 6 months assignment with possible Extension
Schedule: 7:00am - 3:00pm
 
Overview: Join the Space and Defense Group as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, where you will support recruitment activities and partner with hiring managers to attract top talent. This role offers a flexible, hybrid schedule and the opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with hiring managers to accurately define position requirements and develop an effective sourcing strategy
• Support the business and assigned functional areas with acquiring talent, including attending town hall meetings and business update meetings for various initiatives
• Identify and partner with technical vocational schools and local workforce organizations
• Plan and coordinate onsite company hiring events, represent the organization at local job fairs, and participate in any industry-related networking events
• Proactively source candidates
• Conduct phone screens to qualify and present candidates to the hiring teams
• Prepare, extend, and negotiate offers
• Compose and post attractive job advertisements
• Maintain data integrity in the Applicant Tracking System Workday
• Communicate with hiring teams throughout the recruitment process

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Over five years of experience with full cycle recruiting, inclusive of managing a high-volume requisition load
• Experience recruiting and hiring in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to build strong relationships and enact influence with business partners of all levels
• Highly organized, with the ability to act with urgency
• Resourceful and creative ability to attract talent
