Job Description

Qualifications:
Candidates should have basic computer skills, including hands-on experience using Microsoft Outlook. Attention to detail, work well individually and/or with a small team, strong reading comprehension, familiarity with sorting/filing, basic computer skills.• The role involves a filing activity where files are stored in boxes and placed on upper shelves. Candidates should be comfortable lifting items weighing between 25–50 pounds. Activities will include but are not limited to, lifting (possibly up to 50 lbs.), climbing, walking, sorting, filing, some computer-based research.• Position is primarily 8:00am to 4:30pm but may require shift change flexibility of approximately 1 hr. before or after primary shift time.
Responsibilities:
Management of samples from receiving, internal distribution through lab testing to dispatch dispositioning using database software and basic Microsoft programs such as MS Word and Excel. Checking samples against sample requirement and raising any issues to Project team. Ensure samples are managed within quality process and in compliance with according the UL Quality and accreditation process requirements. Working with teams to ensure samples are ready and available for test start internal customers and stored in the correct location. Communicating and guiding internal customers on sample return via phone and email. Support laboratory, engineering and shipping/receiving teams. May also be responsible for maintenance of the warehouse. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. Assist and trains staff as directed. May assist leadership in the development of training as necessary.May develop or assist in the creation of reports and metrics as necessary. Maintain an organized, safe, clean and productive work area. Conducts periodic inventories of sample storage areas. Reports any lost, missing or damaged samples and assists in the research and resolution. Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. Other duties as assigned. Background in laboratory sciences, with familiarity in handling samples, and knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
