Position Title: Clinical Coding Specialist
Work Location: The Woodlands, TX 77380
Assignment Duration: 6 Months
Work Arrangement: Remote but Local to Houston, TX required
Position Summary: Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD 9 CM and/or CPT codes to patient records according to established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD 9 CM and/or CPT codes to patient records according to established procedures.
- Analyzes, enters and manipulates database, confirms appropriate DRG assignments.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experienced, fully competent in own area covering a wide range of tasks. Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision.
- Complete understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job.
- Provides resolutions to a wide range of problems. Job requires judgement within defined policies and practices.
- Works with limited autonomy and under moderate direction. Routine work requires no direction. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
- Knowledge: Complete understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job.
- Knowledge in ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding required.
