Job Title: Travel Histotechnician
Duration: 3+ Months
Location: 1225 NE 2nd Ave, Portland, OR 97232
Shift: 3rd Shift
Job Summary:
The Histotechnician (Travel Technician) is responsible for performing routine medical laboratory tests across different locations to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role involves handling laboratory equipment, analyzing specimens, and collaborating with pathologists to ensure accurate results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment
- Perform routine laboratory testing and specimen analysis
- Analyze test results to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Record and document data, preparing reports using charts, graphs, and narratives
- Collect and process specimens, including culturing and identifying microorganisms
- Examine stained cells to detect abnormalities
- Collaborate with pathologists for final diagnosis when required
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of disease diagnosis and laboratory techniques
- Ability to analyze data and accurately document results
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or relevant vocational training (preferred)
