Position Title: Lab Assistant I, Laboratory Support
Work Location:Ames, IA 50010
Assignment Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Mon- Fri (8am-5pm)
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary: • Performs customary scientific/lab duties. Participate in the execution of routine experiments with assistance or independently. • Background & Context: Performs all work in conformance with applicable regulations and in a safe manner, primarily within the laboratory environment of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiates and completes customary procedures in an efficient manner; operates and is responsible for lab equipment.
• Demonstrates technical ability to independently performs routine laboratory experiments and procedures following appropriate training and established protocols. Routine assays include but are not limited to basic bacterial culture, ELISA, Luminex and PCR.
• Understands and applies basic scientific principles with guidance.
• Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
• Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.

Qualification & Experience:

• Previous scientific/laboratory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a related field.
