Internal Title: Operations Specialist
This is not a supervisory role, will support 3 labs Slight flex with schedule must work during business hours.
This is an "in lab" position, candidates must be open to working in lab, vs. managing externally
This position will support 2 different floors with up to 50 Scientists
No exposure to severe heat or cold rooms Possibility of an extension
Open to candidates willing to relocate at own expense Processes and vendors are already established.
Ideal candidate would be seeking to support existing protocols in place, not seeking to implement new protocols or change them.
**Must have experience:
• Lab operations experience, someone who is readily available in lab, basic experience with equipment, chemicals comfort with PPE, collab with vendors
• Experience with HPLC/UPLC systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS), along with basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance knowledge
• Previous experience working with vendors, relocating chemicals, solvents liquids, working to support other Scientists
• Proficient in MS Suite
• Previous data generation experience
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory-based experience, must be professional experience; within pharma, biotech or academic labs. Same min # of years applicable to both bachelor's degree and master's degree candidates.
Nice to Have/ Preferred Skills: • Chemistry lab experience

Description:
** This position will not be performing chemistry as part of responsibilities
The CMC Synthetics Platform within the R&D organization, is responsible for the process development of small molecule drug substances undergoing clinical studies. We are seeking a hands-on laboratory manager with excellent organizational skills to support our activities.
The person will provide services at the Cambridge Crossing (CX), Cambridge, MA site.
• Provide on-site service to the Client for both laboratory functions and laboratory equipment and instrumentation maintenance and upkeep
• Ensure compliance with health and safety teams and training as required for lab operations
• Support inventory management, purchasing, and shipping of chemical compounds and laboratory supplies

Laboratories support activities:
• Maintain equipment and support new equipment installation and material readiness for technology platforms
• Submit and track work requests and coordinate with service engineers to ensure timely service in cases of equipment failure
• Schedule and coordinate calibration activities for balances, lab hoods, and pipettes to ensure compliance and operational readiness
• Write and maintain training documentation describing the proper use of equipment and workflows
• Coordinate with IT for laboratory computer troubleshooting and support
• Assist scientists with shipping of chemical samples and bulk chemicals and intermediates between sites and CROs/CMOs including international shipping logistics
• Monitor and maintain HPLC/UPLC diluent and eluent supplies as needed
• Oversee and coordinate laboratory space management for three CMC teams (Analytical, Process Chemistry, and Process Engineering), ensuring efficient use of shared resources, equipment access, and workspace organization
• Generate experimental data by following platform protocols (if needed)

Requirements:
• Fully onsite position
• B.S. or B.A. in relevant field (Chemistry or related discipline) with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s in Chemistry
• Demonstrated aptitude for working in the lab and hands-on experience with equipment and instrument maintenance (see below as an alternative that encompasses more items)
• Experience with HPLC/UPLC systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS), along with basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance knowledge
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and organization skills are required
• Ability to work independently and set own schedule
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience participating in teams and collaborative work environments.
