Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: El Paso, TX
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing a variety of assigned duties including blood collection, troubleshooting, training support, and workflow improvement in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment. This role may require floating to other nearby PSC locations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (blood, urine, fecal samples)
Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens according to protocol
Ensure accurate matching of lab requisitions with specimen tubes
Prepare and package specimens for transport while maintaining integrity
Explain procedures to patients in a clear and courteous manner
Demonstrate proficiency using straight and butterfly needles
Maintain and record equipment and maintenance data
Update patient information and documentation accurately
Follow all safety, OSHA, and DEP regulations
Participate in required training and compliance programs
Handle inbound calls and respond to lab-related inquiries
Qualifications & Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
Valid Phlebotomy Certification (as required by state)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
Additional Requirements (Important)
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation (for floating between sites)
Clean driving record (MVR check required)
Ability to work occasional Saturdays
Compliance with required vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, TB; Hep B optional)
Ability to distinguish colors accurately (for specimen handling)
Work Environment
Patient Service Center (PSC) setting
High-volume, fast-paced environment
May require travel between nearby lab locations (mileage reimbursed)
